Halloween 2011

We hosted a Halloween themed playgroup at our house this year and I had alot of fun coming up with some creepy treats for the kids!  I forgot to take a picture of the mummy dogs but here are some of the other creations!

Family Pictures

These are Definitely not great since all we did was set up the tripod but we needed some more up to date pictures to put up so here we are!!

Harvest Festival

A group called Little Patriots Embraced held a harvest festival in Brighton, IL.  Sadly, not many families showed up because they had gone to alot of work and it was a great time!  We did however enjoy the special one on one treatment!  There were horse drawn wagon rides and tractor wagon rides.  there was a lake to fish in (dan did catch a couple of catfish!).  They had kids games and prizes, a pumpkin cannon, a fire for s'mores and a pen full of goats, camels, kangaroos, and baby bison for the kids to feed carrots to!  They also fed us lunch.  It really was a great family day!

Callen got to push the button to fire the pumpkin cannon!

Sister Love

The other day I was trying to get some cleaning done and Jordan kept bringing me books to read.  Finally I told her I would read to her in just a minute.  Callen chimed in "I can read to you Jordan."   Jordan took her book to Callen and climbed up next to her.  Callen (from memory)  "read" the book almost word for word to her little sister.  It was the most precious thing ever!  Love my girls!

Eckerts Pumpkin Patch

We took the girls along with their friend maggie to the pumpkin patch to get a pumpkin and some yummy Eckerts custard!

My Loves!

Maine Lobster

Dan went on a TDY that passed through Maine on the return trip.  He picked up a few fresh Maine Lobsters to bring home and cook.  The girls were very interested in them!  We cooked them and they tasted great..although I made Dan do it.  I didn't have the heart to put them in the boiling water myself!

Happy 4th Birthday Callen!!

I can't believe my baby turned 4!!  She is growing up way too fast!

She started going to preschool once a week this year and her amazing teachers sent her home with this cute cake for her birthday!

She had a very specific list of things she wanted for her birthday.  She wanted playdoh, barbies, mermaids, a hula hoop, and a scooter with a helment!  On the morning of her birthday when she woke up we had her scooter all ready for her to go. She hopped right on and rode around the kitchen!

She has also been into this show called Jake and the Neverland pirates lately, so we threw her pirate birthday party.  This is the pirate ship cake i came up with!

We began the party by having a treasure hunt.  Each child received their own treasure box.  The first clue let them to the merry go round where they each received a pirate spy glass along with clue #2.  The next clue led them to the slide where they received their pirate sword and eye patch along with the final clue.

The last clue let them to the treasure chest full of a bag of goodies for each including toys, candy, and pirate things like tattoos/stickers etc.

She was a lucky girl and received lots of playdoh, barbies, and mermaids from her awesome friends!

Her pirate friends in attentance were: Front row:  sister Jordan, Kale Altman, and Lorelai Morgan.  Back row:  Jonathan Morgan, Callen, Link Altman, Maggie Hughes, Jacoby Altman, and leah Pettet.  (Claire Pettet was busy chasing a balloon during pictures).
