perfect

i know it has been WAY too long since i have blogged..I guess life with two is a little more busy than life with one kiddo!  haha

It has been a bit of a tough week for me, Dan has been gone, the whole family has been sick off and on for the last month but during the last week that i've been alone i've taken Callen in to the dr. b/c she was caughing so much she was vomiting..and then ended up taking Jordan to the ER to be diagnosed with a double ear infection and phneumonia.  FUN TIMES!!

Well, it has also been this week and mostly tonight that i've been looking back and reflecting on all the wonderful people in my life.  My parents made a surprise visit to help out, they drove 7 hours here and 7 hours back just to be with me for a day and a half.  I also had a good friend make a dinner for me and another friend bring by a meal even after I told her I didn't need it.  Today a friend came by and took Callen for a few hours to give me a break and tonight my husband is finally coming home.

I was sitting here thinking about my beautiful girls and how precious and perfect they are and I looked around and my nice warm comfy home and realized just how perfect my life is right down to the cat curled up on the floor at my feet.  Even though there are tough weeks I am so grateful for what I have and how perfect things are.  I love my family and I love my life :)  (and i'll try to be better about blogging!, no promises though)

The rest of the story...

Why did Jordan join us 3 weeks early?  Well, here is the rest of the story!

Last Wednesday I went in for a routine appointment and  because i've been measuring small the last couple of appointments they sent me for a non stress test and a growth scan.  The non stress test was fine and as far as I knew the ultrasound was fine other than it showed the baby was breech.  I was curious about what we could do to turn the baby or what the Dr.'s plans would be if she didn't turn etc etc.  So Thursday morning I called the office and talked to the Dr.  She said we could do accupuncture the next day and then if that didn't work we would try for a version (where they manually flip the baby by pushing on the outside of your stomach) early the next week.  She said she would call back later with appointment times for me.

Dan was scheduled to leave for a week on TDY starting Saturday but because of the risk of going for an emergency c-section with a version he decided to take himself off the flight.  It was a good thing because when the dr. called back instead of telling me when my appointments were she told me they got the ultrasound report back and the baby was smaller than they liked and she was considered growth restricted.  They were worried she was so small because she was not getting enough nutrients and their plan was for me to come in the next morning to have her.  This gave me about 12 hrs. notice to get ready to have a baby.   I called Dan hysterical about having the baby so early and something being wrong etc. etc.  I called my mom and she was able to get work off and they left that night to drive through the night to get here, and I frantically started getting hospital bags and everything ready to go.

After a very restless night we headed to the hospital.  The plan was to prep me as if I would be having a c-section and then try to flip the baby.  If the baby turned they would induce me and if not we would go straight to the c-section.  So, we went to the operating room there were all kinds of dr's and nurses and residents etc. in the room all ready but it was all for nothing because Jordan decided to be very cooperative and it took all of like 30 seconds and they had her flipped no problem.  Sooo they took me back to my room and started the pitocin.  I broke down at about a 6 and got my epidural :)  With Callen the epidural was too heavy and I couldn't feel to push and they used the vacuum and recovery was AWFUL so this time I asked them to make it super light and it definitely hurt but it was so worth it to actually be able to feel what I needed to when it was time to push.  It went super fast, I pushed through about 3 contractions and then we had our beautiful baby girl!!  I felt better within an hour after having jordan than I did weeks after I had Callen...Sooooo much better of an experience.

Callen is being a sweet big sister but we do have to keep an eye on her as she wants to pick up the baby every chance she gets!

Dan is helping out alot more and enjoying his girls a little more this time around as well and he gets a few days off so I get to enjoy the help.  Also, our ward and squadron here have been super sweet and we've had so many people offer meals and help, I feel so truly blessed!

We had a very special Easter this year as our sweet baby girl joined us a few weeks early!
Jordan LoDonna Leininger was born April 2nd at 5:49 pm.  She weighed 5lb 10oz and was 18 inches long.  She had a few issues at first but is doing wonderful now and we are enjoying our new little angel!

The Nursery

So we got confirmation that baby Leininger #2 is going to be a girl so I went ahead and finished all of the nursery decor I was working on.  I am really excited about this room because I actually made almost all of the fabric things in the room (minus the bedspread on the twin bed, and the crib sheet).  It was fun to pick out the colors and to see it all come together and turn out close to the vision in my head!  It took awhile to convince dan to go for the brown paint but even he really likes it now.   We have just under 8 weeks till my due date so we're starting to get pretty excited to meet our little girl!!

Kittens

We had a stray cat show up at our house almost 2 months ago. She started looking very pregnant and in the last couple days she had her kittens. Unfortunately only 1 of the 3 kittens was alive, but we are excited to have a new baby kitty in the house. Callen is very interested, she actually got to see this one born, it was really fun for her, and hopefully a good teaching experience for me to talk about our upcoming baby...now I hope she doesn't think mommy's having kittens though... :)

Pregnant Belly Pics!

5 more weeks to go, WooHoo!!!

Is it really a museum?

For Thanksgiving my younger brother Dusty came to visit. While he was here we went to St. Louis and went to the City Museum. It was so much fun! This is definitely a one of a kind museum. It was more like a 4 story playground. We had a blast climbing around and playing all day!

This was the part on the outside of the building

There is a door somewhere here, can you find it?

they had a fake cave, and it was amazingly realistic!

The swirly one on the far end is an 8 story slide you can go down!!

This is my brother dusty

Daddy and Callen

Dan bet me I couldn't fit through this hole....I won :)
Callen got cold outside and wanted her uncle dusty to warm her up

She didn't want him out of her sight all weekend!

Where did uncle Dusty go??

Uncle Dusty, Callen, and Dan. Behind them in the top left you can see a 3 story slide they had on the inside of the building.

If you ever come to St. Louis, i would definitely recommend a trip to the city museum. I woud wait until it is warm though because the outside part was so much fun. They even have more on the roof, as well as an aquarium that you can crawl under the tanks, we didn't pay extra to do those parts though. We didn't even get to all of the areas in the main museum and we spent 4 hrs. What a fun day!

Spouse Flight

In November i was able to get a spouse flight on the KC-135. It was AMAZING!!! We took off and met up with a B-2 to offload fuel. I was able to sit in the cockpit during takeoff and then along with the other spouses on the flight we all took turns laying down in the boom pod while the B-2 got refueled. It was an incredible thing to watch. I was literally 20 ft. from the other plane while flying 300 mph. Here are a couple of the pics I took.
